Letter R – Styrofoam – Polterguise font.

Letter R made from Styrofoam, acrylic resin coated for outside use on a shop sign.

The Poltergeise Font was used for a shop front sign in Bournemouth. The wording on the sign ‘THRILLER’ was cut and then painted red and white. It was coated in a acrylic resin coating and the letters were fitted with stand off brass locators so that when the letters were fitted to the sign they stood off the sign by 20mm to give a shadow. We also made a 3D Skull out of resin and styrofoam.

The Orange Letter U

Orange letter ‘U’. Made from 3mm cast acrylic moulded into the letter ‘U’, part of an order for a customer who required the letters for a children’s Nursery School in Bradford. The letters went on a wall in the main reception of the building.

Note. When I took the photo it was definitely orange, when I resized it on my computer it was still a bright orange but when I uploaded it to the blog it has a definite look of red to it. This is a red moulded letter ‘U’ formally known to us as an orange letter ‘U’. Do not adjust your monitor just imagine it is orange.

We have more information about moulded letters.

Steel lettering

The letter ‘S’ was made from stainless steel. The letter was built up using 1.5mm thick stainless steel to make it 3D, with a return of more than 20mm. Stainless steel rod fixings were fitted onto the back so that it could be applied to an outside wall of a building. The letter was part of a larger order of stainless steel letters.
